Don’t Miss the San Pancho Children’s Circus in Mexico This March
San Pancho Children’s Circus is a group based in San Francisco, Nayarit, that holds an incredible annual event every March. It was created in 2011 and was co-founded by its Creative Director, Gilles Ste-Croix, the co-founder of the world-famous Cirque Du Soleil and by his wife, Monique Voyer.
The idea behind San Pancho Children’s Circus is a creative, entertaining and overall astounding show starring the children of the San Francisco center “Entreamigos” community in Nayarit. Only just over an hour from your luxury accommodations at Villa Estrella, the annual fundraising show has become an important event for locals and visitors alike.
Cirque du Soleil’s Support of San Pancho Children’s Circus
San Pancho Children’s Circus became possible through the Circo del Mundo de Cirque du Soleil. It donated the necessary training equipment to make the show possible. That said, this event is also supported by friends of the organization and international artists from Canada – the home country of Cirque du Soleil. There are also over 100 local volunteers and the Cirrus Cirkus company keeping this show alive.
The first performance of the San Pancho Children’s Circus – known locally as the Circo de los Niños – was called “Cuando aún no existían los sueños.” It has continued to perform annually since that time.
The San Pancho Children’s Circus Mission
San Pancho Children’s Circus was created for the purpose of encouraging kids and young adults in their holistic development through “artistic, creative, motor and communication skills,” in addition to boosting confidence and self esteem in risk taking within a safe and secure environment. Circo de los Niños de San Pancho provides youth in Nayarit with a quality Circus Arts program that allows the general public to attend their events and shows.
The Circo de los Niños de San Pancho Vision
The goal of the San Pancho Children’s Circus is to provide a sustainable multidisciplinary artistic organization and venue within Nayarit which provides cultural experiences for both those participating in it as well as the general public who attend the events and shows put on by the group.
Fundraising in March
Every year, the San Pancho Children’s Circus puts on a massive show to fundraise for the organization. This year, it took place on March 20, 21, 22, and 23 in the Bodega Circo in San Francisco, Nayarit. General admission tickets were $550 MXN (around $28) with free admission for kids aged 2 and younger.
