Meal Plans
Villa Estrella offers authentic, Mexican cuisine meal plans that can be designed to individual tastes and special dietary requirements. Villa Estrella meal plans are not required as part of the rental package but represent a terrific bargain in terms of price, quality and convenience. We are not near any major supermarkets and unless you have good local familiarity with Mexican village shopping you are best to use our meal plan. Give yourself that well deserved vacation from being a kitchen slave.
- The meal plan includes your own private chef who is very flexible both in catering to individual tastes as well as to special dietary requirements. The chef arrives at 7:30AM and will prepare your breakfast, which includes fresh fruit, handmade flour tortillas, fresh salsa, guacamole, eggs, bacon, sausages or whatever other foods you request. Fresh juices and “aguas”, or sweetened wild fruit extractions, are always on hand.
- A light lunch is prepared.
- The main meal of the day is prepared for you before the chef leaves at 4pm. You can choose to eat your evening meal anytime at your leisure.
- Villa Estrella’s Meal Plans include all the food and produce, drinks and snacks that you can reasonably consume. The menus have been designed over time, and are healthy, delicious and varied.

A variety of different salads are offered – the local produce is wonderful.
- Nayarit is a state of bountiful produce, and every street corner has a market selling fresh fruits and vegetables, both grown locally and brought from other parts of Mexico. The days of beans and tortillas as the mainstay of our diets is long past, and our cooks are plentifully supplied with the freshest of produce, dairy products and meats. And of course there is the sea, where fish and shrimp and oysters are brought in daily.
- If you plan a fishing trip, just advise Ismael, the manager, and the cooks will have breakfast ready when you return and will be happy to prepare your catch for dinner. We have never sent out a party that has not brought back enough fish to have a wonderful feast.
- Please do not be afraid to ask what things are, to talk to the chef, practice your Spanish, or ask the manager if you have special needs or concerns. Our chefs are trained in the highest standards of cleanliness and we pride ourselves on providing the best quality service.
