Riviera Nayarit Beach Towns Worth Visiting

Along the Pacific coastline, north of Puerto Vallarta, you’ll discover Riviera Nayarit beach towns that will completely enchant you. The friendly people, fascinating culture, gorgeous artisan works, and delicious foods will leave you in wonder. The following are some of the towns you won’t want to miss.

Sayulita

About an hour and a half from Villa Estrella in Punta Custodio, Sayulita was a hidden gem only a decade ago. That said, word has spread, and it has become exceptionally popular among surfers who have fallen in love with this gem among Riviera Nayarit beach towns. Whether you’re an experienced surfer or have never tried it before, don’t miss your chance to catch a wave in Mexico. Rent a board for about $5 per hour and grab a lesson if you want (or need) one.

Punta de Mita

Just a little farther south along the coast from Sayulita, about an hour and 45 minutes from Villa Estrella, you’ll discover Punta de Mita. Another fantastic Banderas bay beach for surfing, it’s also lovely for those who just like to stroll in the water. It remains quite shallow for quite a distance out into the water. Just remember to bring water shoes as there are some rocky areas. Back on the beach, there are a number of restaurants that absolutely must be tried while you’re there!

Lo de Marcos

Just over an hour from your luxury villa in Mexico, you will find Lo de Marcos. Among Riviera Nayarit beach towns, this one is much more subdued. Its waves are calm, which is fantastic for swimming. Moreover, the beach doesn’t typically get very crowded, so if you were hoping to avoid crowds of other tourists, you will love this sunny spot. Sit back and relax on the beach and enjoy the cold drinks and fresh fish at the palapas restaurants you’ll find dotting the shore.
